ALL sorts of animals are ready to find new homes on the fifth annual National Pet Adoption Day at PETstock stores across Australia on Saturday, February 9.

There will be greyhounds from Greyhounds Adoptions WA, cats from Perth Rescue Angels and rabbits from Saving Perth Animals From Euthanasia Inc at PETstock Belmont.

PETstock Belmont assistant manager Sandra Jones said three areas would be set up for the animals and there would be representatives from each of the organisations.

“We’re doing all three rescues in one day, which has never happened before,” she said.

Ms Jones said she encouraged everyone to come in and talk to the representatives available on the day.

“The goal is to get as many homes as possible and raise as much awareness as possible,” she said.

“Not everyone can adopt but maybe they can foster or donate.”

All breed labels will be removed from listed pets on petrescue.com.au in weeks leading up to the day as part of this year’s theme ‘Love knows no breed’.
