The City of Belmont has redesigned Wicca Park playground to cater for all ages and abilities.

It has been designed to encourage children to use imagination and to experience challenge and risk in a safe environment.

Its original theme was based on the concept of adventure play, Belmont Mayor Phil Marks said.

Community input and consultation was sought from surrounding residents into the playgrounds configuration, which was incorporated into the parks redesign.

Equipment that has been incorporated into the park includes a 6m eagles nest tower, a 3.5m pirate tower and a three-bay swing.

I am sure local children and visiting families alike will find Wicca Park great fun with lots of opportunities to play to their hearts content, Cr Marks said.

The City is considering extending the playground in the near future.
