Police chase ends in Manning with double arrest

TWO men will face court today after leading police on a car chase through local suburbs last night.

About 10.40pm, police tried to stop a white Holden station wagon with false number plates on Abernethy Road, Belmont.

Officers from Police Air Wing tracked the car through Belmont, Cloverdale, Rivervale, Lathlain, Carlisle, Victoria Park, South Perth, Como, Manning and Salter Point before the vehicle was abandoned on the Manning Primary School Oval.

A police dog tracked the men who were arrested a short distance away.

A 22-year-old Medina man was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failing to stop for police, driving without a licence and breach of bail.

A 23-year-old Mirrabooka man was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and breach of bail.

Both men will appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
