A MAN has been charged after he allegedly struck a police officer in Perth while driving a stolen car.
The 21-year-old man Cannington man faced the judge on Thursday, charged with a number of driving offences as well as intentionally causing bodily harm, failing to stop and car theft.
Police began to pursue the man after spotting him on the Mitchell Freeway on Tuesday afternoon driving a car allegedly stolen during a burglary in Belmont earlier in the day.

READ NOWThey say he did not stop and about 30 minutes later, on the Tonkin Highway near Perth Airport, he struck a female police officer attempting to deploy a tyre deflation device.
The officer was taken by ambulance to the Royal Perth Hospital suffering serious injuries.
The injured officer has since been released from hospital, police said.
The man was remanded in custody until his next appearance in the Perth Magistrates Court on January 23.
