Police investigating woman’s death in Cloverdale

POLICE are investigating the death of a 38-year-old woman in Cloverdale last night.

About 7.50pm police were called to a residence in Hardey Road in relation to a woman allegedly being assaulted by a man known to her.

About the same time St John Ambulance contacted police requesting assistance at the same residence, stating they had been called in relation to a female who required medical assistance.

However a man at the address was reportedly acting aggressively and refused to let them inside.

Police attended the residence and established the man had left the scene.

Police and St John Ambulance personnel entered the property and located the injured woman, who was unresponsive.

St John Ambulance personnel provided emergency first aid to the woman and she was taken to Royal Perth Hospital under emergency conditions, but she later died.

Police launched a large-scale search for the man, who was arrested near Cohn Street, Rivervale.

He remains in custody.
