Police release CCTV pictures from Ascot boat fire arson

ARSON Squad detectives have released pictures of a man they wish to speak to in relation to a fire at Ascot Waters Marina in mid-October.

The deliberately-lit fire caused $100,000 damage to a boat moored at the marina, nearby boats and the structure.

It caused thick clouds of smoke to engulf the nearby area and a smoke alarm was issued for the City of Belmont.

Police would like to the man pictured, who they believe can assist with this investigation.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles in the area around the time of the fire is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
