The Como resident was photographed during the HBF Run for a Reason in 2010 and it was his picture that was used in the promotional material for the 2011 run.

But it is not the fame that inspires Mr Prout to run.

‘I think it is really important my kids see me exercising regularly and I find running is a great way to maintain some fitness so I can keep up the energy required to play with them,’ he said.

Mr Prout first ran the HBF Run for a Reason after the birth of his first son.

‘I struggled to maintain a regular fitness regime so I used the race as a target to train for to get myself on track,’ he said.

He has participated every year since 2010 and said the reason remained the same.

‘I have had another son now and it’s easy to get sidetracked from exercise. I think it is important to maintain a good level of physical and mental health, especially when times are strained with two young babies in the house,’ he said.

‘This year my goal is again to get healthy for the birth of our third baby due in October. I am using the run as a springboard for a half marathon later in the year.’

The HBF Run for a Reason takes place this Sunday. Participants can opt for a 4km or 12km course.
