Pound shuts for upgrade

The work is expected to be completed in September. During this time, its services will be run out of the City of Vincent’s dog pound .

If your dog is impounded on a weekday, you can either go to the City of Vincent dog pound or the City of South Perth’s civic centre to pay any impound fees. Your dog will be brought back to you after 1pm.

On weekends, residents will have to go to the Vincent pound.

The City is continuing to use the Cat Haven in Shenton Park for impounding cats while the pound is having works carried out.

The new Animal Care Facility will be a regional facility that will be used primarily by the City of South Perth and Town of Victoria, Park.

The City of Canning and City of Armadale will use it to house cats.

With a joint facility, it also allows local governments to cost share expenses.
