‘In the last year we issued 1500 allocations to men and women,’ charity founder and secretary Pastor Janet Tayler said.

‘About 75 per cent of these were for families. We offer fresh food hampers on Fridays and Coles food vouchers on Thursdays but we are running out of funds.’

A Lotterywest grant for the food vouchers will run out in six weeks, she said. ‘We’ve just been overrun this year.’

She said the M and M’s program was formed to meet a need in the community.

A City of Belmont grant for $5000 helped establish the program.
