Under the National Quality Framework, introduced in January 2012, the Cloverdale Childcare Centre on Pearl Road was one of the first services to be assessed and declared as exceeding national quality standards.

Mrs Krishnan, who has been in the childcare industry for 12 years, said it was a huge achievement having purchased the centre in a liquidated form in December 2010.

‘It was an empty shell ” there was no equipment, it was dirty, everything needed to be repainted,’ she said.

The old-style home is now a bustling centre, where children up to six can interact with animals, play in a safe yard and pick garden vegetables to be cooked for their lunches.
