Report says ‘no’ to tower

At tonight’s council meeting, councillors will consider the recommendation, which asks it be refused and referred to the Swan River Trust to provide a recommendation to the Minister for Environment, who will decide.

The application has concerned residents, with 39 of the 41 respondents against the proposal during consultation.

But in their deputation, representatives from Telstra said the pole would not be intrusive and they had kept the impact to a minimum, almost disguising it as a light pole by painting it the same colour.
