Santas fired up for charity fun run

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

On December 1, people of all ages will hit the pavement in Variety ” the Children’s Charity of Western Australia’s Santa Fun Run.

The Burswood-based charity raised more than $45,000 last year with more than 1600 Santas taking part.

This year, Variety WA is hoping to raise $100,000 towards the Variety Freedom Program, giving children the gift of mobility and freedom this Christmas. The event will run nationally with Variety offices in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, the Northern Territory, Tasmania and Victoria also holding their own events on the same day.

Children up to the age of five run for free, and will be given their own Variety Santa hat.
