Banners in the Terrace is run by the WA Local Government Association and this year featured 81 banners, submitted by local government areas, on St Georges and Adelaide terraces.

St Maria Goretti’s entry starring Digit the Robot was positioned at the intersection of Barrack Street and St Georges Terrace in full view of pedestrians and motorists.

The school’s banner was designed by Year 6 students and chosen by the City of Belmont in a competition open to local primary schools because it best reflected the theme ‘City of Belmont ” Future Focus’.

Year 6 student Maddison Duff said it was amazing to see the school’s banner displayed in the city and she was looking forward to the receiving the council’s prize of a trip to Perth Zoo to adopt a giraffe.

The school will now go on to compete for the best upper primary banner in the competition.

Banners in the Terrace is on in the city until Sunday, August 10.
