Sergeant Shane Markham, from Belmont Police, said all four gophers were from residences at the Faulkner Retirement Village, on Elizabeth Street in Cloverdale.

The scooters were discovered the morning of October 5 and retrieved, all damaged beyond repair, and are being assessed for insurance purposes.

Each scooter was valued at more than $1000 and Sgt Markham said CCTV footage helped his team’s inquiries.

Among those charged were two 12-year-olds from Rivervale and a 14-year-old from East Victoria Park, facing multiple aggravated burglary and stealing charges.
