COMMUNITY members are being invited to celebrate Aqualife’s new facilities during an Open Day on Sunday.

Parts of the aquatic centre were closed during the past four months while the $1 million Refresh Project was undertaken.

The renovation includes new flooring and re-tiling in the indoor pool area, a new water feature and floor design in the leisure pool, refurbished changing rooms, new energy efficient and reliable boilers for pool and spa heating and upgrades to the spa pool.

Improvements to the hydrotherapy pool area floor, security system, gym flooring, group fitness and gym audio systems were also completed, in addition to a new stage being installed in the group fitness room.

Town of Victoria Park Mayor Trevor Vaughan said he was extremely happy with the results of the Refresh Project and was excited to show the community what had been happening for the past four months.

“What used to be tired and unreliable is now all shiny and new and we’re excited for the community to come along to the open day and experience a new and improved Aqualife,” he said.

“The Refresh Project has been completed to the scheduled time frame but our members have been inconvenienced during the project so I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their patience during the renovations.”

Aqualife’s Open Day will take place on between 10am and 2pm.

There will be lots of family friendly entertainment on offer including a stage show from children’s entertainers The Lulus, Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm, bouncy castle, dinosaur robot rides, food trucks and more.

Entry to Aqualife and all rides are free of charge.
