Shot at NBN claim

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

Last Monday, Opposition communications spokesman Malcolm Turnbull addressed about 100 people at the City of Belmont Civic Centre for a talk hosted by Swan MHR Steve Irons.

Mr Turnbull spruiked the Opposition’s national broadband policy and criticised the NBN Co for claiming to have passed fibre through about 1600 homes and businesses in Victoria Park.

He claimed only 87 of the premises were capable of being connected to the network.

Because of bad weather, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd cancelled his Friday morning press conference at the Tonkin Highway and Abernethy Road intersection in Cloverdale where the Gateway WA project is being built.
