Their passion was ignited by their own experience after their mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and now they want to help women to feel confident about their appearance.

On Sunday, 500 people are expected to don pink scarves and walking shoes as they join the sisters in their mission as they host the inaugural Pink Scarf Day at Burs- wood Park.

The sisters want the event to become an annual program to raise awareness of breast cancer and have plans to expand the program next year to include a fashion show.

People taking part in the walk don’t need to pay a registration fee but are asked to make a donation on the day.

Donations will go toward a workshop for breast cancer patients who would like to learn ways to wear a head scarf.

Donations will also go to the Cancer Council of WA.
