Bailey has had his jewellery store in the South Shore Piazza for six years and is about to put on his first art exhibit, Limited Skies.

‘I have always loved painting and art in general; I can’t really remember a time when I haven’t done some form of art,’ he said.

‘However, I only started painting pictures to hang on the wall about seven years ago when I began working for myself.

‘I have been putting up paintings in my jewellery shop since I have opened and have constantly had customers asking to buy my work. However I have always wanted to exhibit them all together and put on an exhibition rather than sell them one at a time.’

Bailey said he had a lot of trouble parting with his paintings and some of them take a year to finish.

‘I grow very attached to each piece, but after constant pressure to exhibit and sell, I have decided to put on this event,’ he said. ‘I hope to make a name as a painter as well as a jeweller and find a balance between my two passions.’

– The exhibit will open to the public on June 4 and run Tuesday to Saturdays until the end of June.

The exhibit will be located opposite Christopher Bailey Jewellers, South Shore Piazza.
