It marked the start of construction on the $1 million facility to house local community groups, Lathlain Carlisle Playgroup, Carlisle Victoria Park Toy Library and a child and adolescent health clinic.
The building is Zone 6 of the Lathlain Precinct Redevelopment Project, made up of eight separate zones which together will form a community sport and recreation precinct.
The $70 million project includes redevelop-ment of the Lathlain Place commercial district, a new community building and new training and administration facilities for the West Coast Eagles and Perth Football Club at Lathlain Park.

“The community building is servicing not only the needs of two of the area’s biggest community groups, but new parents and families in the wider community of Lathlain, Carlisle and the Town,” he said.
