South Perth: alleged one-punch victim Steven Richards dies in hospital

A MAN who was allegedly punched in the head outside his South Perth flat last Wednesday has died in hospital.

Steven Richards died four days after he was found with serious injuries near the intersection of Hurlingham Road and Mill Point Road.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and placed on life support but died on Sunday.

Police believe the 45-year-old’s head was punched outside the block of flats in which he lived about noon on Wednesday.

A 24-year-old man arrested over the incident is also a South Perth resident.

After a two-day police search, Arron Lee Rebbeck was arrested in Gosnells late Friday night.

He made an initial court appearance on Saturday morning, charged with grievous bodily harm, and was remanded in custody to face court again on Wednesday, November 21.

Police have indicated the charge might be upgraded.
