CRACKING jokes in a musical comedy act is how a South Perth comedian makes the audience laugh sunny-side up at his Perth Comedy Festival show ‘Good Egg’.
Canning Vale-raised comedian Matt Storer is no stranger to the festival but said he was still exploring his style as he takes the stage for the fourth time.
“I’d like to think every year I bring a different flavour, a different taste,” he said.

Storer said the term ‘Good Egg’ resonated with him as a reference to his personality and the way he came across on the stage.
“I do have a reputation as a clean, quite approachable comedian in the scene,” he said.
“It’s hard to name a stand-up show, it’s not like a movie or a theatre piece.
“If the people are anything like me that they have a rep for being friendly and too approachable, then maybe that’s something they can relate to.”
Mixing musical comedy in the stand-up continued after the success of Storer’s first try in being the funny man.
“I first brought out the piano at the first comedy festival because I didn’t have enough material for a whole hour,” he said.
“(This year) people can expect some of my best stuff that I’m most proud of and new songs.”
