South Perth hairdressers plan 100 haircuts for Movember

Nadia BudihardjoSouthern Gazette

A CENTURY of cheap cuts will be all the rage when an Ardross resident partners with a South Perth hair studio this Sunday.

Joshua Fiorentino’s first time participating in Movember has led to a fundraising partnership with Peta Charles Hair Studio and an aim of raising $2000 as part of his Movember campaign.

Proceeds from up to 100 haircuts at $20 each will go towards his Movember team, ‘Stache Rules Everything Around Me, S.R.E.A.M Get the Moustache, Never Never Shave Y’all’.

“I wanted to put in as much to it because I’ve unfortunately had friends who lost family members to cancer,” he said.

“The black dog has also come to get me a couple of times in the past.”

Mr Fiorentino said if they could get majority of the bookings filled, he would repeat the event next year.

“The idea is to make it an annual thing and if it gets bigger, who knows how many people could get on board,” he said.

“If everyone on this day fills up all the spots, we’ll absolutely smash the goal.”

The hair studio’s owner Peta Charles said the four stylists for the day would be herself, two senior stylist friends and her son, Jordan, who also owns the studio.

“I feel that in the past years, men kind of got forgotten about and I think men should be supported,” she said.

“We’ll trim up the moustache as well within the $20 price.”
