PEOPLE are being encouraged to ride, scoot or skate to a pop-up cinema event at Windsor Park in South Perth.

The South Perth Activation Network is holding a free screening of The Starfish Throwers at 5pm on October 14.

People are asked to attend the event by bicycle, scooter or skates and bring their own bean bag, low chair or picnic rug.

South Perth Activation Network member and event organiser Julie Rougier-Lagane said she was excited that more than 7000 people have registered their interest.

“It’s the first major event that we’ve organised. We thought it was something that could bring people together,” she said. “The response to the event has been overwhelming.

Fellow network member and event organiser Lisa Rooke said the group was keen to organise more events but wanted feedback from the community.

“We are interested in meeting people at the event and seeing what events they would like to attend,” she said.
