South Perth spa scoops pool at Australian Beauty Industry Awards

A FOCUS on customer service has once again landed a South Perth day spa a major award.

Cove Spa took home the Best Customer Care award at the 2016 Australian Beauty Industry Awards in Sydney on August 21.

It is the third time the business has won the award, after winning the honour in 2013 and 2015.

The day spa’s big night continued when Ella King was named as the Salon Manager or Coordinator of the Year.

Cove Spa owner Jocelyn Derecourt said she believed there were a number of reasons why the business had been successful in the awards.

“I work really hard to instil the value of good costumer service with the staff,” she said.

“I was taught by a lady who owned a number of chains and was passionate about the need to value customers.

“We are doing something that is intimate and we need to make sure they feel comfortable.”

Mrs Derecourt said it was great for the business, including the staff and Ella King to be recognised at the awards.

“There were thousands of businesses who nominated, so to be recognised three times, it’s a great result,” she said.

“Ella has grown a lot in the two years she has been here and she is really efficient and welcoming; when you meet her she feels like a friend.”
