City of South Perth spread festive spirit of giving to all kids

Kaylee MartinSouthern Gazette

Working to spread festive joy to underprivileged children, the appeal calls for new, unwrapped books to be placed under the wishing tree at the Manning or South Perth libraries.

The City signed up to the appeal for the fourth year in a row and Mayor Sue Doherty said she urged the community to get behind it.

“Christmas is a really special time for families, giving and receiving gifts, however sadly many children living in families that are financially disadvantaged will not receive a gift,” she said.

“The appeal is an opportunity to give and help bring a smile to a disadvantaged child’s face this Christmas.”

Donations can be made at either library up until December 2.
