THE Stars aligned on New Year’s Eve for owner Bob Peters with a record-equalling win by Star Exhibit at the TABtouch Perth Cup at Ascot Racecourse.

A big crowd watched the horse take out the Group 2 $500,000 race to give the Perth breeder his seventh Perth Cup win.

Jockey Jarrad Noske rode the winner from the back half of the field to take the race by a nose from another Peters runner, Neverland.

Star Exhibit ($5) was one of five horses in the race trained by Geoff Durrant and Jason Miller.

Perth Racing Chief Executive Officer Julian Sullivan said the 2016 Ascot Racing Carnival had been a great success.

“Perth Racing set out to create a unique and exciting racing carnival that brought together new experiences in food, fashion and entertainment along with great racing.”

The 2016 Carnival attracted about 100,000 people through the gates boosted by the inaugural TABTouch Masters with about 20,000 visitors each day over the three-week run.
