Surprisingly good goals for Eagles

WEST Coast Eagles past and current players, and their fans, kicked a Surprisingly Good Goal across the Swan River in Burswood today.

Club legend Quinten Lynch and current players Jack Darling and Andrew Gaff answered a challenge by SGIO to kick a goal across the river to raise funds for community initiatives across WA.

Called the Surprisingly Good Goal initiative, it raised $5000, with the AFL well-knowns and their fans trying to kick a footy through a custom set of AFL goals erected on a barge floating in the middle of the Swan.

The initiative aims to raise $100,000 with beneficiaries including AIME – which hopes to connect 10,000 Indigenous kids with university mentors across Australia by 2018 – and the Australian Red Cross involvement in disaster relief.
