FOLLOWING the festive tradition of discovering neighbourhood Christmas light displays is becoming increasingly difficult as Perth’s suburban sprawl continues.

However, the Synergy Xmas Lights Trail website gives users access to a unique online GPS visitors guide that allows families to shortlist houses they want to visit while plotting a custom map for the most efficient journey.

Synergy marketing manager Kelley Yeats said the company’s new interactive website was a game-changer based on geotracking and was designed specifically for its Christmas lights competition.

“(The website is) similar to Google Maps and it’s definitely a WA first, but most importantly, this initiative will feed into Lifeline WA’s Shine a Light for Life fundraising campaign,” Ms Yeats said.

Synergy will make a $1 donation per vote to Lifeline WA for the first 35,000 voters in its Christmas Lights People’s Choice category on the Xmas Lights Trail website.

With December upon us, Ms Yeats urged decorators to upload photos of their display so the public could vote for their favourites.

Lifeline WA chief executive Lorna McGregor said she was grateful to Synergy for joining LifelineWA again for the Shine a Light for Life campaign.
