Maylands taxi driver assaulted and robbed at Rivervale service station

A taxi driver received minor injuries to his face and body after being assaulted in his car in Rivervale early on Tuesday morning.

Just after 2am, the 27 year old from Maylands had fuelled up his car at a service station on Great Eastern Highway and was approached by a man demanding cash.

The man was verbally abusive, punched the driver in the head and stole a mobile phone from the driver’s car.

A woman joined the assault but both fled on foot along Acton Avenue when another vehicle entered the station.
