Two cats missing after Belmont vet break-in

Police are investigating a break-in at Belmont Ave Veterinary Hospital in which cats went missing this weekend.

WA Police Media Liaison Officer Adam Brouwer said the offender or offenders smashed the glass front door, rummaged through front reception and opened six cages from which five cats escaped.

“The burglary occurred between 6pm on Saturday, December 15 and 8:45am on Sunday, December 16,” he said.

Belmont Ave Vet practice owner Paul Pendergast said some of the boarding cats were found but two were still missing as of Monday morning.

The two missing felines are microchipped black and white domestic short-haired cats, a four-year-old male Jake and a 13-year-old female, Sam.
