Victoria Park Library storytime gets special reading of The Nutcracker

Aaron CorlettSouthern Gazette

THE Victoria Park Library’s youngest guests were treated to a very special storytime on November 10 when professional teaching artist and West Australian Ballet education officer Nicole Ward visited to read a traditional version of The Nutcracker.

As the story ended, the children were invited to participate in an energising workshop where they were taught some simple movement sequences based on the characters in the book.

“Our community really values the performing arts and it was so great to welcome the West Australian Ballet into the Town to share their passion with our youngest members and inspire them to learn,” Mayor Trevor Vaughan said.

Storytime is held every Tuesday and Thursday during the school term at the library from 9.30am-10.30am.
