Victoria Park locals can have their say on potential purchase of Miller’s Crossing

Bronwyn DonovanSouthern Gazette

THE Town of Victoria Park is seeking community feedback on the potential purchase of land known as Miller’s Crossing.

At its Council Meeting on May 8, the Town requested the community be invited to have a say on several proposed options for the future of the land – including whether to keep it as public open space for the asking price of the State Government or see it developed into housing lots for sale.

There has not yet been any consideration of the land purchase in the Town’s Long Term Financial Plan – so it would be an additional expense.

Depending on the option chosen, the council might need to consider reduced budget allocations, changing the purpose of reserve funds or undertaking loan borrowings.

Town staff will on-site at Miller’s Crossing on June 10 from 10.30am to 12.30pm to provide further information and gather feedback.

Public submissions will be accepted until June 21.
