But the Town’s Renew Life program acting director Warren Bow said it was also the biggest collection of bulk waste ever, which had also lead to several days lag.
‘Collection data indicates that the average bulk waste collection across the four areas is 400 tonnes. To date well over 400 tonnes has been collected and we are not yet 75 per cent complete on the contract,’ Mr Bow said.
He said the contractor was using a fleet of up to seven waste collection trucks with collection continuing on weekends. A separate contractor has been engaged to collect waste mattresses, with more than 350 already collected.
