PERTH has earned a place in the finals after winning its last round WACA Premier Cricket clash against Mt Lawley.

Needing to win to secure a fourth consecutive finals appearance, the Demons rose to the occasion with an excellent fielding and bowling display.

They restricted the Hawks to 158 and the outstanding bowlers were Kyle Gardiner (3-35), Alex Calmy (3-20) and Jake Van Galen, who conceded just 29 runs from his 10 overs.

In response, skipper Luke Jury continued his brilliant form and remained unbeaten on 74 as the Demons won by four wickets.

Tom Casey collected 61 with the bat and Lachlan Pratt and Akash Fotedar three wickets each in the second grade win.

A superb century by Brad Garland and Scott Baker’s 74 powered third grade to victory and Rhys McVeigh returned to form with 76 in the fourths, who lost.

Perth have qualified for the finals in the top three grades and finished third in the Club Championship.

The two-day semi-finals this weekend will be against South Perth, Bayswater-Morley and University.
