Work on new bike paths under way

Staff ReporterSouthern Gazette

The Town will half fund the $250,000 project with the remaining $125,824 from the Perth Bicycle Network Local Government Grants program, which the Town applied for last March.

Bicycle lanes will be constructed on Bishopsgate Street from Rutland Avenue to Roberts Road and on-street lanes will be installed in both directions along Kent Street, between Albany Highway and Berwick Street, providing a link between Victoria Park and South Perth.

The Kent Street project will involve minor widening of the southern side of Kent Street, from the highway to the Victoria Park Bowling Club entrance.
