The Department of Transport is targeting a group of 1500 Victoria Park residents and two schools in the area – Ursula Frayne Catholic College and Victoria Park Primary School – as well as two businesses with about 2500 employees in the Kings Square commercial precinct in Perth CBD.
Department of Transport executive director of transport strategy and reform Brett Hughes said the daily commute to and from the CBD made up a large part of congestion in Perth.
“The Department of Transport is working with the Town of Victoria Park to encourage residents who commute to the Perth CBD and have good alternatives close by to incorporate walking, bike riding and public transport use into their routine more often, instead of just jumping in the car,” he said.
