Unwanted pets in shelters are costly

Janice TeoSouthern Gazette

I AGREE totally with what the RSPCA does – there is no need to be cruel to animals, or people for that matter.

But there are thousands of wild cats and dogs roaming our country destroying our native wildlife because people do stupid things like buy them as presents before asking or thinking, or breeding them intentionally or unintentionally because they don’t or won’t look after them.

These animals in our shelters after a time need to be euthanised.

You can call me cold-hearted – anyone who knows me knows different – but I am a realist and the reality is that these animals are costing millions each year.
