Crazy Speed

Janice TeoSouthern Gazette

WHY are manufacturers allowed to make cars that have a speedometer that reads up to 240km/h?

It is utterly crazy. There is always going to be some idiot who will try to push that boundary.

There is nowhere in Australia that you could travel at that speed.

Speedometers show one centimetre for each 10km/h. Therefore, after just a few centimetres you are probably well over the speed limit.

It is all so ridiculous: these supposed possible speeds are not helping our road toll.
