Especially the so-called large number of New Zealanders immigrating caught my eye. Is he aware that the New Zealand newspapers are full of opinions like his, but then complaining about all the Australians permanently coming to New Zealand to enjoy nature, fresh air and work?
In reality both opinions are wrong.
New Zealand has 2 per cent Australians and Australia has 2 per cent New Zealanders. Therefore, there is no difference.
Where there is a difference is the generosity of New Zealand towards Australians. Upon arrival, they have access to student loans, social support and free legal representation. None of these services is available for New Zealanders who live in Australia, even after 10 years.
