SOME peak-hour motorists using the heavily congested intersection of Berwick Street and Kent Street recently had an added frustration, provided by Victoria Park Town Council.

One morning at 8.45am, a street sweeper trundled up and the driver began operating his brushes and hose at the Kent Street driveway of the Shell service station.

He seemed intent on removing something that I couldn’t make out.

His manoeuvring backwards and forwards and swinging out held up most of the stream of traffic that was turning right into Kent Street to head towards the university; only five or six cars got through.
