No solution

Drum-lines have proved not to end all shark attacks.

They in fact catch many more other marine life than sharks and it’s an illegal act, in this case, on many different levels.

There are much better ways of dealing with the odd chance of a shark attack, one being the (so-far) successfully trialled penning at Coogee that isn’t trapping marine life.

We could subsidise the costs of protective equipment for less than the millions of dollars a year to keep the drum-lines.

Sharks are meat-eaters, not man-eaters. They take us only when they mistake us for a seal or other prey.

There are products readily available right now to rectify this.
