Opinion: Brave stranger saved daughter from dog attack

Lee Hassan, RoleystoneSouthern Gazette

My daughter Anna was walking her dog on the lead at Bodkin Park, Waterford on the evening of Tuesday 9th January, when her dog was attacked by a pit bull terrier.

My daughter’s screams attracted the attention of John Tibouk who happened to be nearby.

With no regard to his personal safety, John tried to pull the dog off but it would not let go of my daughter’s dog’s leg.

He eventually got the dog to let go by putting his hands around the dogs neck.

I would like to acknowledge John’s bravery and also thank him and his neighbour John for staying with my traumatised daughter and dog whilst I made my way there from Roleystone.
