Opinion: Free loaders taking up parking in South Perth

Barrie Duball, South PerthSouthern Gazette

SOUTH Perth streets near bus routes are increasingly becoming free parking lots for people from other areas.

They arrive early on weekday mornings, catch a bus to Perth and return late afternoon.

In the Mill Point ward they are clogging up streets to the point where some residents and ratepayers are simply unable to park their cars, for any extended period, near their house.

The City of South Perth has been made aware of this but have done nothing realistic to solve the problem.

Other inner councils acted long ago and issued parking vouchers to residents.

If you are affected by these free loaders, contact your Council representative.

Suggest to them that their re-election will not get your support unless they act on this growing problem which, with the current building activity, is only going to get worse in the future.
