Opinion: No emergency exit plan at Optus Stadium

Julian H Stanwix, ComoSouthern Gazette

IT is with interest that I have read how both the current government and the former government have spent the past couple of weeks celebrating the opening of the Stadium.

The top three requirements to be checked in the preparation before opening is, getting the crowd to revert to a pre 1960 attitude of using public transport or foot traffic to arrive and be seated before the show starts with refreshments and ablutions done.

My question after all this reassurance is, they have not done a check on a emergency exiting of this tremendous crowd which from what I can see, is totally reliant on foot, crowded bus ports and crowded rail, with the required buses and rail returned to remove the crowd, whilst emergency vehicles are brought in and are leaving.
