RSL is grateful for support

ON behalf of the Returned and Serving members of the community, I extend a sincere thank you for your tremendous show of support over the past weeks leading up to and on April 25.

More than 400 residents attended the rededication service of the refurbished War Memorial where Mayor Phil Marks and Federal Member for Swan Steve Irons unveiled the Commemoration Plaques.

The first school combined service, attended by more than 850 students from all schools in Belmont plus 400 guests, teachers, staff and family members of the students, was a truly a moving service, well run by all students involved and their teachers.

The support at the Dawn Service attended by more than 2500 shows there is still the respect for those who served and are still serving our country today.

Additional thanks to Curtin FM 100.1, WA Turf Club and the City of Belmont councillors, management, administrative staff and outdoor workers and staff for their contribution to the centenary services at Belmont

Our memorial in Belmont is yours, to develop our history and the present. We compliment those who undertook the refurbishment, for they have accomplished what they set out to do bring the community together to remember those who gave their lives for all Australians.

president,
