Unhealthy precedent set

To the best of my knowledge, in the 25 years that the former MLA Eric Ripper was Member for Belmont, never did he give endorsements to local government candidates.

In my opinion, no candidate should be seeking or receiving party political endorsement.

Ms Godfrey has in my view, set a very unhealthy precedent by endorsing certain candidates.

There is simply no way that a candidate should be restricted by being fettered by party political politics.
