Owners Emily and Ross, who have a two-year-old son and another on the way, purchased the property in 2012.

“At the time we didn’t know Salter Point existed,” Ross said.

“We wanted to be close to the river so we started looking around Applecross and Mt Pleasant and spent a fair bit of time viewing properties in these locations before realising we were compromising on size just to live in a postcode.

“It was just by chance we stumbled into the Mt Henry estate, saw a for sale sign on the property, called the agent for a viewing, made an offer and the rest is history.”

Built in 2002 on the 478sq m block, the home is ideal for busy people who want something timeless and stylish.

The two-storey residence has a tiled entry that leads to a formal lounge room, an open-plan main family/meals area with separate games room, and a large kitchen with quality appliances, including a dishwasher and gas cooking.

“We had all the grass in the front garden beds removed and replaced with easy-care plants; the whole garden is fully reticulated and very low-maintenance.”

“We were only a couple when we first moved in and the house was bigger than our needs but even though our family has since grown, the house provides plenty of room to expand and with a very secure yard there is definitely peace of mind,” Ross said.

“Salter Point is a great neighbourhood; it’s nice and quiet, close to so many amenities and we have friendly neighbours. We are reluctant to leave but due to a change in my job role, we will be making the move to Port Hedland in the very near future.”
