MORE than 120 WA junior tennis players aged 10-16 years took part in the 6th annual South Perth Tennis Club Junior Tournament last month.

The tournament started as part of the club’s commitment to encourage junior development.

Tournament director Lorraine Chyne said the tournament gave its junior members a chance to build their skills and gain additional competitive experience.

“Junior tennis builds character and interpersonal skills in playing against opponents in competitive circumstances, as well as providing healthy exercise,” she said.

Participant Lucas Felton said even though there was a rain delay he loved playing the open.

Last year South Perth Tennis Club opened six new courts and was a finalist in the 2017 WA Tennis Industry Awards.
