LOCAL budding swimmers can now train under an Olympic medallist at Aquinas Redbacks Swimming Club.
The club was established in October last year .
While meets take place at Aquinas College facilities, the club is not exclusive to students.
Head coach Antony Matkovich is a 2004 Olympic silver medallist and a two-time world championship gold medallist from 2001 and 2003.

READ NOWMatkovich said the club’s aim was to provide opportunity for all ages- kids and adults- to learn to swim both competitively and socially and train in squads.
“New members are very welcome; boys and girls, Aquinas and non-Aquinas families,” he said.
“We have excellent facilities at Aquinas College with the year-round use of a heated 50 metre pool.”
