Basketball: Perth Redbacks claim men’s and women’s SBL wins at home

PERTH Redbacks enjoyed a successful round 4 as the men’s and women’s teams won their games at Belmont Oasis on Friday.

The women’s team defeated the Cockburn Cougars 74-69 to extend their winning streak to three games.

Perth scored just nine points in the second quarter to go into half-time six points down but they delivered 45 points to 34 in the second half to come away with the narrow victory.

Kayla Standish had a shooting night to forget for the Redbacks making 3-16 from the floor but she still finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots.

In the second game of the night, the Redbacks Men’s SBL side defeated the Cougars 101-92, in a game that went to overtime.
